Hello! We’re Dawn and April, two friends (that call themselves grandma) that like to make art together! We’ve been working together as the artist duo popo and lola since 2020. Together we’ve worked on two large-scale public mural projects for the City of Richmond: one for Thompson Community Centre, and another for Westwind Elementary School. Most recently we’ve worked with Richmond School District 41 to create a mural for one of the outdoor storage containers at McKay Elementary School. We’re based on the unceded territories of the Musqueam, Squamish, and Tsleil-Waututh peoples.
